1. Product Overview
The Side Body Panel Checking Fixture is a custom high-precision inspection tool specially developed for dimensional detection, profile verification, and assembly tolerance inspection of automotive side body panels (side wall outer panels, inner panels, and structural sub-panels). As a core quality control equipment for automotive body-in-white (BIW) stamping and welding processes, it strictly follows automotive industry GD&T geometric dimensioning and tolerancing standards and 3-2-1 positioning principles. This fixture is used to quickly detect part profile deviation, hole position accuracy, flange flatness, gap and flushness, and springback deformation, effectively solving the problems of low efficiency and large error of traditional manual measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures. It ensures the dimensional consistency and assembly accuracy of side body panels, supporting mass production quality stability of automobile bodies.

2. Core Structural Composition
- The fixture adopts an integrated rigid modular structure, with stable overall performance and convenient operation and maintenance. The main components are as follows:

- Base Frame: Made of high-strength cast iron or thickened aluminum alloy profile, after stress relief annealing treatment, it features high rigidity, low thermal deformation and long-term structural stability. The precision datum surface is milled and ground to ensure the overall benchmark accuracy of the fixture, avoiding detection errors caused by base deformation.

- Precision Positioning System: Equipped with high-precision positioning pins, datum blocks and adjustable eccentric positioning seats, supporting X-Y axis fine-tuning. It realizes full-fit precise positioning of the side body panel’s key datum holes and positioning surfaces, completely fitting the 3D digital model of the workpiece, ensuring no offset or shaking during detection.

- Simulated Inspection Blocks: Customized high-precision profiling blocks are arranged according to the 3D contour of the side body panel, covering key areas such as body curved surfaces, flanges, and assembly edges. It can intuitively detect profile gaps, surface undulations and edge deformation of stamping parts.

- Quick Clamping Mechanism: Equipped with pneumatic or manual quick clamps, which can firmly fix the workpiece without crushing the sheet metal surface. It effectively suppresses part springback displacement during inspection and improves detection repeatability.

- Measurement Auxiliary Components: Reserved detection gaps, dial indicator detection positions and hole position inspection tools, matching feeler gauges, height gauges and other measuring tools to complete quantitative detection of tolerance data.
